Pawel Jakub Dawidek is a FreeBSD committer. In the FreeBSD project he works mostly in the storage subsystems area (GEOM, file systems), security (disk encryption, opencrypto framework, IPsec, jails), but his code is also in many other parts of the system. Pawel currently lives in Warsaw, Poland, running his small company. There will be 3 parts to this presentation. - a short introduction to ZFS and its great features - discussion of porting work, enumerate differences between the FreeBSD port and Solaris ZFS, and show some performance numbers. - demonstrate how ZFS works on a FreeBSD machine
